DEI Mission Statement: Building a Better CHOIR Together
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Change Team strives to cultivate a work environment where diversity, equity, and inclusion are our driving strengths. As agents for change, we will lead conversations, events, and education and advocacy efforts that promote knowledge and understanding of our differences. We will work steadily to increase employment, internship, and mentorship opportunities that improve our Center by promoting a diversity of thought. We believe a commitment to equity at every organizational level is necessary for CHOIR to reach its full potential. We will challenge the structural inequities that impact our lived experiences within CHOIR, as well as those that impact the lived experiences of the Veterans we serve.
As we develop how we see our differences and celebrate and include all voices, we create a better professional environment at CHOIR. This will advance CHOIR’s work of research to improve the lives and health outcomes for all Veterans. Our commitment to valuing diversity, strengthening equity, and treasuring inclusion in our workplace begins by honoring the historic tribal land of the Massachusett and Pawtucket tribes on which our research centers sit.
