Junior Project Planner

RESEARCH ASSISTANT/JUNIOR PROJECT PLANNER - Boston University contract position (Boston, MA) | Full-Time | Hybrid Work Environment

Job Description:

The VA Boston Center for Healthcare Organization and Implementation Research (CHOIR) is hiring a full time Research Assistant/Junior Project Planner to perform a variety of research and administrative functions to support Principal Investigators, Project Managers, and department teams to meet research project objectives.

CHOIR is a VA Health Systems Research Center of Innovation (COIN) whose mission is to advance coordinated, patient-centered health care for all Veterans through research and quality improvement. Our main research areas are focused on evaluating and implementing Veteran-centered virtual care, improving whole health care for socially and economically marginalized Veterans, and advancing Veteran-centered shared decision making for precision oncology.

Duties/skills include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Conduct data collection
  • Maintain research databases
  • Recruit and consent study participants
  • Conduct literature and other internet-based searches
  • Perform medical chart reviews to extract data
  • Prepare tables and graphs
  • Code, analyze, and/or summarize qualitative findings
  • Schedule research interviews, focus groups, team meetings, and manage correspondence
  • Prepare and track study related mailings
  • Take notes in interviews or meetings
  • Assist with developing, drafting, and formatting surveys or other data collection tools
  • Review and edit reports, posters, manuscripts and presentations
  • Compile and assist with submitting new grant proposals
  • Assist with compiling, drafting and submitting IRB and other required documentation to meet research compliance standards or funding requirements

Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in social science, public health, or a science field.  MPH or similar degree strongly considered; 1-3 years of experience in a research setting preferred; The position is located at the VA Boston Healthcare System - Center for Healthcare, Organization, and Implementation Research (CHOIR). Start date contingent upon successful background investigation.

Other information:

This is a grant-funded contract position through Boston University (salary around $52,000 per year).
